About us
Tidewick Kitchen opened in 2016 in an old ship chandlery on Wharf Street. We wanted a place that cooked Maine's food the way people who live here eat it: fresh fish, shellfish from the bays, potatoes, greens and berries in their season, without fuss.
Where the food comes from
Most mornings the fish comes from the Portland Fish Exchange, the shellfish from growers along the coast, and the vegetables, eggs and cheese from farms inland. The menu is written around what arrives, which is why it is short and why it changes.
The room
Thirty tables in the main room, a raw bar by the front window, a bar for walk-ins and a back room with one long table for groups. The kitchen is open to the dining room, so you can watch your dinner being made.
